Textual Priority

There are millions of conflicting assertions made about what is supposedly right or wrong by the standard of God, either citing "it's somewhere in the Bible" or citing supposed inclination of "the spirit". Ultimately, there must be a reason for a text even existing, such as being a more objective source of information than these conflicting personal/cultural inclinations and rumors. People can have personal hesitances regarding different issues or personal desires to do different things, so individual feelings would not be any objective source of judgment. The text must be our standard for determining these matters, and importantly, a specific text:

The Law states it is the choice between life and death (Dt 30:15-16), and that commands cannot be added to nor taken away from (Dt 4:2, 12:32). Prophets that claim the addition of new commandments to the Law, or claim the ceasing of certain commandments from the Law, cannot be legitimate by the standard of Dt 13:5, as they are both pushing people from the actual commands and violating the command of not adding/removing commands in the process. There is no loophole for nullification in the Torah. We should consider all of the Laws.
